International Symposium on
OCEANOGRAPHY OF THE EAST ASIAN MARGINAL SEAS
International symposium on OCEANOGRAPHY OF THE EAST ASIAN MARGINAL SEAS will take place in the Hyundai Hotel (Vladivostok, Russia) on May 15-17, 2000. The symposium will bring together scientists from Japan, Korea, Russia, United States, China and other countries involved in research and modeling of oceanography, meteorology and pollution of the East Asian Marginal Seas.
CREAMS (Circulation Research of the East Asian Marginal Seas) project has been started in 1993 by joint efforts of Japanese, Korean and Russian researchers and has been developed further by large-scale experiments of the US scientists in recent years.
ORGANIZATION AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Symposium is organized by Far Eastern Regional Hydrometeorological Research Institute (FERHRI) with the support of some international organizations
Three sections are tentatively planned:
* Oceanography of the East Asian Marginal Seas
* Meteorology and climatology of the North Pacific;
* Chemistry, ecology and optics of the East Asian Marginal Seas
Working languages of the symposium are English and Russian.
